Hi, I'm Vauna. I've been seeing clients since 2002. My Masters degree is in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy, and I also have studied and practised other models of therapy since I became a CTA in 2006. I went on to gain expertise in other models because some things are understood or explained in different ways between the models of therapy, and this variety has given me a depth to my ways of understanding people, and in my abilities to work effectively and arrive at good results for my clients. The models of therapy that inform my work, in addition to Transactional Analysis, are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Positive Psychology, Acceptance and Commitment therapy, and Neuro-linguistic programming. I care deeply that people are in pain when they first come to therapy, and that they want to be relieved of the pain and not have it happen again. We talk about your situations and work out what are the right paths to follow in our conversations to address the things that matter and to work together to enable you to overcome these difficulties. The answers could include seeing more clearly what the issues are, understanding how you have found yourself here, connecting with what matters and accepting some things, or changing other things.
