I am a friendly and fully qualified counsellor committed to providing a confidential and non-judgemental environment. I am an Accredited and Registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP). I have 10 years of experience in working with a diverse range of clients, including people who identify as LGBTQ+. For me, the heart of counselling is a good relationship between client and counsellor. This helps to create a safe and respectful setting for exploration, reflection and understanding of what is important to you. As we are all individual and unique, people will naturally need different things from counselling. I use an integrative, person-centred approach which means that we can work together in a way which best suits you, drawing from different techniques which will support you through the process of counselling. I will help you to reflect and explore to find your own solutions and your own methods of overcoming challenges. I believe that counselling should be completely non-discriminatory. As an essential part of this belief I work with a LGBTQ+/GSRD affirmative approach. I am also sensitive to issues surrounding BAME communities, race, ethnicity and culture as well as individuals’ religious beliefs. I am an Accredited member of the BACP and I am on their Register of Practitioners. I also adhere to their ethical framework for good practice, attend regular professional supervision and ensure I take part in continuing professional development training. I offer an initial session at a reduced rate. This is for us to discuss what has brought you to counselling and what your expectations of it are, as well as for you to be able to raise any questions or concerns you may have about counselling. It will also be a chance for us to see if we will be comfortable working [...]

  • Sessions are on Zoom and are available Weekdays.
  • Start times are from 10 am through to 8:30 pm start time in the evenings.
  • I see adults individually, and couples.
Hi, I'm Vauna. I've been seeing clients since 2002. My Masters degree is in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy, and I also have studied and practised other models of therapy since I became a CTA in 2006. I went on to gain expertise in other models because some things are understood or explained in different ways between the models of therapy, and this variety has given me a depth to my ways of understanding people, and in my abilities to work effectively and arrive at good results for my clients. The models of therapy that inform my work, in addition to Transactional Analysis, are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Positive Psychology, Acceptance and Commitment therapy, and Neuro-linguistic programming. I care deeply that people are in pain when they first come to therapy, and that they want to be relieved of the pain and not have it happen again. We talk about your situations and work out what are the right paths to follow in our conversations to address the things that matter and to work together to enable you to overcome these difficulties. The answers could include seeing more clearly what the issues are, understanding how you have found yourself here, connecting with what matters and accepting some things, or changing other things. I work with
  • adults
  • young adults who are at university
  • couples
