Description:

There are times in life when you may feel that you don't have anyone to turn to. You perhaps feel that family or friends may judge you if you talk to them about your problems or express certain feelings. Talking to a Counsellor may help take this pressure away. I can provide you with the space to be free to open up, in confidence, and express these feelings in a safe environment.

I offer my counselling services to adults and young people individually or as couples. I am a qualified experienced Integrative Counsellor & Psychotherapist offering a warm friendly service, supporting each person's individual needs working with a variety of issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship, anger, self-harm, self-esteem and work related issues.

I can offer you an empathetic, non-judgemental service in a safe environment where we can work together allowing you to talk and express yourself freely through a variety of tools and theoretical models.

I provide an Online Counselling & Psychotherapy Service to any individual that cannot access face to face sessions. My service is open to self-referrals and to organisations who want to support their employees. I also provide services to EAP companies.

Anna Colquhoun, MSc. Integrative Therapeutic Counsellor, MBACP, MBPsS

Description:

I'm Anna Colquhoun, a BACP registered integrative Therapeutic Counsellor. I offer private, confidential, one-to-one counselling online and face to face with adults on a variety of issues and have experience and an interest in:

  • anxiety

  • body image

  • depression

  • eating disorders / problems

  • female experience

  • grief and loss

  • neurodiversity (autism, ADD, dyslexia, dyscalulia, dyspraxia and Tourette's syndrome)

  • relationship issues (partner, family, friends, colleagues)

  • self esteem / sense of self

I work online using video, email, phone and instant chat, as well as face to face in Borough/London Bridge. You can email me to book an initial free consultation to talk about what you are experiencing and see if I can be of help at: annacolquhoun@therapysecure.com.

As you are here, I expect that something in your life is feeling difficult and its impacting what it's feeling like to be you right now. Maybe you are feeling anxious, stressed, confused, down or out of control and might feel like it's difficult to be in relationships with other people. You may be noticing that you want to change some of the ways you have dealt with these feelings and experiences in the past. I can help you to make sense of what’s happening and find ways to feel better about yourself.

I have seen, both as a client and as a therapist that, by talking with a therapist who feels like the right fit, the way we think and feel about ourselves can change and life and relationships can improve. Choosing a therapist you can talk to is essential to understanding the challenges you may be facing. My aim is to support you in the process of therapy and personal change.

As well as my private practice, I have worked in low cost counselling and as a student counsellor in Higher Education. I continue to work as a university counsellor, as well as in private practice. These experiences have meant that I have worked with people from all walks of life who have experienced a range of life experiences that bought them to therapy. I work with people using brief therapy (where we work together on a specific issue for an agreed number of sessions), as well as in an open-ended way where we begin the work and have regular review points. When you are ready to end therapy, we will work towards this together.

I am a qualified Therapeutic Counsellor and work in depth, long-term therapy and in brief therapy. I offer a relational approach to counselling and psychotherapy that integrates a number of therapeutic schools, including psychodynamic and person-centred approaches. For my Masters dissertation I focused on mindfulness meditation in therapy. I have completed eating disorder treatment training in Enhanced Cognitive Behaviour Therapy at The Centre for Research on Dissemination at Oxford, Oxford University Department of Psychiatry, and training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I work in private practice online using chat, email, phone and video conferencing, face-to-face in Borough/London Bridge, and as [...]

Description:
You have issues around abuse or addiction? You suffer from anxiety? You experienced loss or bereavement? You were bullied or you feel depressed? You go through life changes? You have issues with relationships? You feel stressed or have issues with self-esteem? And maybe you just want to talk through an issue in order to make sense of what has happened and to put things in perspective? Or you want to make sense of a specific problematic event that sticks in the mind? Or you want to change your behaviour, or negotiate a life transition or developmental crisis? Maybe you want to abolish self-criticism and enhance self-esteem?
My work is about empowerment and therefore the first questions I will ask myself are "How can I be deeply respectful towards my client's individual way of being?" "How can I—collaboratively with my client—carve out what kind of approach I should follow and identify my client's goals, needs and preferences?" I deeply respect that every client is different.
My desire is to help you getting through difficult times—as I got through difficult times. In the first video session we just try to find out if we can work with each other, if online counselling is the right way for you and how we can proceed. And we take it from there...
I offer a confidential space through Video Calls and tailor my approach according to your needs and preferences. I value difference and diversity. My work is about empowerment and therefore the first questions I will ask myself are “How can I be deeply respectful towards my client’s individual way of being?”
