Counselling is a safe, non-judgemental and confidential space that enables you to focus on what matters to you. It provides an opportunity to work through difficult situations that life can throw up, that can leave us feeling overwhelmed or unsure. Given these challenging times, online counselling can be both an accessible and effective option.
As an Accredited Person-Centred Counsellor, I value an approach that is empathetic and respectful. My career spans across 37 years of nursing, volunteering and counselling, where I’ve undertaken critical incident work for organisations and counselled for several charities specialising in the impact of trauma and sexual abuse. I now run my private practise with a range of adult clients, both face-to-face and online.
I work integratively, meaning each person is unique and this is reflected in how I work with you; drawing upon and incorporating other methods to meet individual needs and preferences. We have within us the resources to grow, heal and to feel comfortable with who we are. I have a bright sense of humour and can work creatively. We work together at a pace that suits you, side by side, step by step.
You can find more about me on my website www.debranewmancounselling.co.uk or you can get in touch via my email, email@example.com.
My approaches are Person-Centred and integrative.
I also offer EMDR, which stands for Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing. It’s a form of therapy that’s at the forefront of treating trauma and a range of other conditions, such as PTSD, depression, anxiety and phobias. By using bilateral stimulation, such as eye movement or tapping, it enables the brain to process disturbing or unresolved memories. This can be used in both face-to-face and online counselling.

Under these complicated world circumstances, all of my clients have been transitioned to online counselling, with good effect. More and more people are turning to online counselling as an excellent alternative. People often ask what the difference is, but the process is much the same, just taking advantage of modern technology. In my experience, counselling using an online platform can be as effect and meaningful as traditional counselling.
For online counselling I offer video sessions via Zoom and VSee, as they offer a higher degree of privacy and security. I can also work by way of text or email exchanges. Please contact me for further information.
