Hello and Welcome

I am a qualified clinical supervisor having completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Counselling Supervision from Chester University and have a specialism is supervising practitioners working with Children and Young People. I am a Transactional Analyst and UKCP registered psychotherapist together with being a Certified Cyber Therapist & Certified Cyber Supervisor OTI). I offer individual and group clinical supervision to counsellors and therapists working from a wide varieties of settings - private, non statutory and statutory organisations.

I was the Clinical Lead for for a number of years and in this capacity presented at OCTIA, UKCP and BACP conferences on working with Children and Young People. I am therefore particularly experienced in working with counsellors and therapist who work with children and young people both face-to-face and those as a distance.

I have had articles published articles on working with children and young people and one article entitled "Let's Play: the improvisation of possibility in online supervision" in Ann Stokes (Ed.), Psychotherapy 2.0 series, Online Supervision: A Handbook for Practitioners (pp.90-94). London: Routledge

I was a member of the BACP Expert Reference Group which drew up the E-Counseling and Telephone Competencies.

Description of my online supervision service: I offer a relational approach to clinical supervision believing the supervisory relationship to be crucial and at the heart of the work we do.
Experience of supervising online:

I supervised counsellors and support workers at, an online counselling website while I was employed as their Clinical Lead.

I was an external supervisor for OLT on their Diploma in Online Therapeutic Supervision.

I am also an approved supervisor for a number of YP agencies - 42nd Street (Manchester) Barnardos (St. Helens) online service and TIC+ online service in Gloucester.

I also have experience of supervises therapists from a variety of creative therapy backgrounds - art and drama therapy, supporting them to creatively adapt their face-to-face practices for the online working world.

Supervision model I mainly use:

I predominately use Shotet and Hawkins’ 7 Eyed Model of Supervision to support supervises to critically reflect upon their practice I also utilise a TA Relational approach using transference and counter-transference as a way to understand the supervisory relationship. I see the supervisory relationship, where support and challenge are offered as a way for supervises to expand and reflect upon their practice.

Other models I am conversant with:

I have undertake some training in body psychotherapy and am interested in how our bodies are impacted by each other while working virtually. This is particular important with working with trauma where vicarious trauma experienced by the practitioner is possible

I work with a variety of mediums for example webcam ( and IM and the telephone. You can choose how you connect and work with me.
