• Supervision is understood as a reflective and evaluative process conducted within a contracted working relationship between a qualified or trainee counsellor and an appropriately qualified and knowledgeable supervisor. • Supervision provides an opportunity for you to grow and develop as a therapist and to reflect and discuss clinical issues that have arisen in your clinical work. • If you have access to the members’ area of the BACP website, then you may wish to check the BACP article: how to choose a supervisor – as it may help you to identify things to consider when choosing a supervisor.

I believe that it is vital to be supervised in the medium through which you are working, so that I, as your supervisor, can get a real sense of how you work and communicate in that medium. From my own experiences I value the importance of creating a supportive space that is challenging, in a way that encourages you to consider your practice from different perspectives, explore new ways of working, and develop your practice confidently. Flexibility and openness are key aspects of my supervision style; for example, if you are predominantly working via email, we will use that medium [...]

Description of my online supervision service: Please see the 'Supervision' page on my site: https://www.chandcounselling.co.uk/supervision.html.
I'm interested in developing a collegial relationship with supervisees, where we are each an expert. I'm aiming to create a respectful environment where you could talk freely about and learn from your difficulties and triumphs. This way of working is informed by my training, and my own experience in supervision of not being judged but rather helped by my supervisor to examine experiences for the continual - and optimal - improvement of my practice. I've worked as a therapist for nearly ten years; and as a supervisor since 2014. I love both.

Since qualifying as an online supervisor I have been supervising supervisees who are working all over the world, which means that I am thinking all the time about international and jurisdiction issues, which of course are not always easy to be clear about. I provide supervision both to individuals and to groups. If you are looking for an online supervisor I would encourage you to just book one session with me first to see if you like the way I work.
