NEWMIND SANDPIT #5
Venue: Nottingham, Venue TBC
The the fifth NewMind Network proposal development Sandpit workshop will place next month in Nottingham.
Funded by the EPSRC, NewMind aims to bring together clinicians, Engineering & Physical Science researchers, mental health professionals, charities, industry partners, and service users, to develop proposals for technologies to support & transform the management and treatment of mental health
Our previous Sandpits have resulted in the submission of a number of proposals from new collaborations that have been funded as part of the NewMind Stage 1 Feasibility Fund. Stage 1 Feasibility funding (~£15k) is still available for ideas that have been developed at one of our Sandpits. In addition, all projects in receipt of Stage 1 funding are eligible for larger grant support of up to ~£45k in Stage 2 (four awards in total).
At both stages i.e. applications for feasibility funding and subsequent application for larger grant support, proposals will be assessed by a friendly but challenging Dragons' Den style panel. The Sandpit will help you find opportunities for collaboration across the network and to develop research ideas further. Details of how to apply for funding will be made available at the event.
NewMind Sandpit #5 will take place from mid-afternoon Monday 27th November to early afternoon Tuesday 28th November 2017. The afternoon of the 27th will involve an introductory plenary session and an opportunity to form initial project discussion groups, followed by an (optional) evening dinner.
Overnight accommodation will be available for those who are not Nottingham based and need to stay, and will be funded by the network. If you are in need of this please contact email@example.com in order to place yourself on our booking list.
More information will be circulated prior to the event.
