I work with children and adolescents, with a client-base of families, schools and local authorities.  I have a solid grounding in therapeutic theory and training, along with the experience and life-skills to make my service both enriching, practical and supportive.  Many of my clients value my ability to think about complex issues of loss, trauma, ethnicity and neuro-diversity, and they can relate to the personal development which has inspired me to become the child psychotherapist I am today.

I work with children who have experience of local authority care and adoption, as well as vulnerable children from all walks of life who find it hard to cope in the world, their schools and their families.  I support them through major life-transitions, and address the coping mechanisms that are often seen as naughty, disruptive, dangerous behaviour.  I help children to find a way to move from stuck, angry and frustrated feelings towards safety and acceptance.  Together we build the bridges towards reparied relationships and new experiences.

Therapists Information
Counselling / therapy models / approaches:

I hold an MA in Integrative Child Psychotherapy and specialist postgraduate training in Therapeutic Life Story Work and the Application of Arts to Therapy and Education. I apply psychodynamic theories and concepts around trauma, neuroscience and developmental play, along with artistic, creative energy to my work. My goal is to find ways to engage with the overwhelming feelings and experiences that often shape children’s lives.

Special Interests:

I have a special interest and experience working with children on the autistic spectrum. I have gained experience working children whose complex developmental behaviour or attachment needs place their families at risk of breakdown.

I have specialist training and accept referrals from local authorities wishing to commission therapeutic life story work, and have a passion for helping young people to use technology to make sense of their life experiences.

I also have experience as an independent advocate working with vulnerable young people in families and foster-care across Hertfordshire and as an independent mental health advocate in adult and adolescent psychiatric units across London.

Experience of working online:

My training as a Certified Cyber Therapist gave me valuable experience, using email and chat with distressed young people during the COVID-19 pandemic. Since graduating this year, I have successfully supported my entire case-load with phone, email and video-link sessions.

I use video-calls, email, phone and chat, in addition to traditional face-to-face sessions in school, to find the right combination of support that suits childen and young people.

My charges for regular weekly sessions can vary between £55 and £90 depending on the nature and length of the work. Please see my website, or get in touch for more information.
